Marines who witnessed the event from inside the compound caught glimpses of Garst’s feet flailing through the air just above the other side of the building’s eight-foot walls. The explosion knocked him at least fifteen feet away where he landed on his limp head and shoulders before immediately standing back up.
Not quite sure of what had just happened, Garst turned back toward the blast, now nothing but a column of dirt and smoke rising toward the sun.
“It pissed me off,” he said.
He directed his men to establish a security perimeter while letting them know in his own way that he was OK.
“What the f--- are you looking at?” he said. “Get on the cordon!”
» DOJ Accused of Stalling on MOVE Act for Voters in Military
The Department of Justice is ignoring a new law aimed at protecting the right of American soldiers to vote
DOJ’s website lacks any mention of the MOVE Act. In fact, the section on military voting includes the outdated and nonbinding 30-day recommendation for sending out ballots. There is no mention of the the current 45-day mandate.
But the DOJ's online voting section includes a detailed section devoted to helping felons learn how get their voting rights back.
“It is just offensive to most Americans that we can send soldiers to the front lines but they can't vote,”
» Quislings Sacrifice Arizona to Goal of One-Party Rule
Arizona's measured attempt to defend itself from foreign invasion was gutted today by Clinton-appointed apparatchik Susan Bolton, using legal "reasoning" that was probably not even intended to be taken seriously. A state that is facing economic and societal collapse due to Mexican colonization is officially not permitted to enforce immigration law. We are moving into the end game now — the point where America's collectivist enemies dismantle the country.
» Come November, Remember Yesterday’s ‘Temporary Restraining Order’ in Arizona
We all know what the score is here. It has nothing to do with “human rights” or “splitting up families” or other such poppycock. It’s about buying votes. Democrats (and a number of RINOs) think that if they appease illegal aliens and their supporters and manage to push amnesty through, then they’ll have secured the votes of millions of people — not to mention locking in the support of the businesses that hire these illegal aliens.
States have been left helpless to deal with the anarchy created by the failure of the federal government to enforce border security. Whereas yesterday it was unclear how far states (such as Rhode Island) could go, today states are powerless.
The inability of a state to implement a policy of checking the immigration status even of people already under arrest for some other crime is remarkable.
With a federal government which refuses to take action at the border until there is a deal on "comprehensive" immigration reform, meaning rewarding lawbreakers with a path to citizenship, this decision will insure a sense of anarchy. The law breakers have been emboldened today, for sure.
As it stands this afternoon, it is perfectly rational for someone faced with the choice of obeying the immigration laws or not, to choose not to do so. The choice of lawlessness makes a lot more sense than spending years winding through the byzantine legal immigration system, because the end result will be the same but lawlessness gets you here more quickly.
When the law and the federal government reward lawlessness, something is very wrong.

» The Unhealthy Motivations of Liberals
In general, low self-esteem and a lack of self-love are the basis for the ideology of liberals.
Liberals are those who would use government to reduce the freedoms of some people to provide benefits for others. Liberals argue for fairness and equality for all people, but neither is possible. Other than identical twins, all people are genetically different, and without exception, each has unique life experiences that are interpreted differently. We are necessarily and naturally unequal in a worldly sense. (If "all men are created equal" in a Godly sense, nothing more needs to be done to ensure it.) Liberals, progressives, socialists, fascists, communists, and statists seek similar means to the same end. They want control of an expansive, intrusive government using taxation, regulation, and takeover of private property and businesses to achieve an earthly equality -- an equality that is unnatural, unhealthy, and unattainable. This irrational political ideology is rooted in psychological shortcomings.
» Cameron's Despicable Toadying to Turkey
It is in keeping with that conspiracy of silence, that Cameron made no mention of the thousands of political prisoners in Turkish jails, there often for merely expressing an opinion at odds with the state, for singing a folk song, or delivering an official speech in Kurdish. Naturally Cameron did not think to raise the issue of Leyla Zana, the first Kurdish woman elected to the Turkish parliament and a winner of the Sakharov Prize, who is still in jail today. Cameron could have at least raised the subject of Aysel Tuğluk, a member of the Turkish Human Rights Association, who was illegally stripped of her parliamentary immunity and sent to jail for handing out leaflets in the Kurdish language, and is now due to be sent to jail yet again.

The Netroots were positively obsessed with the Tea Party this year, an obsession which illuminates their hunger for crushing inconvenient fellow citizens. The media fusses endlessly over the “hateful” spirit of the Tea Party movement, but the anger among its members is directed primarily at power-hungry politicians and the bloated government they’ve been nourishing. The Netroots, by contrast, are furious at the citizen resistance to this government. The thought of subduing it, as forcefully as possible, is the only thing that cheers them up.

Under a little-noticed provision of the recently passed financial-reform legislation, the Securities and Exchange Commission no longer has to comply with virtually all requests for information releases from the public, including those filed under the Freedom of Information Act.
The law, signed last week by President Obama, exempts the SEC from disclosing records or information derived from "surveillance, risk assessments, or other regulatory and oversight activities." Given that the SEC is a regulatory body, the provision covers almost every action by the agency, lawyers say. Congress and federal agencies can request information, but the public cannot.
We've learned, in the last 2 years, that it takes months to comb through the kind of legislation being squeezed out by this dhimmicrat congress; to find what's been hidden therein.
Funny how quick the SEC found their blessings in this one, eh? It almost makes you think perhaps they knew it from the get go?

“With the possible exception of illegal immigrants in Arizona, the people cheering the loudest about Judge Bolton’s injunction can be found in the Obama Administration,” said King. “By blocking the most important enforcement provisions of Arizona’s law, Judge Bolton has apparently decided that Arizonans’ lawful attempts to protect their lives and property is of secondary importance to protecting the Administration’s political standing among open borders advocates. I doubt Judge Bolton’s ruling will survive an appeal, and, for now, the Obama Administration should consider itself lucky to have had its day in court in front of a judge appointed by the Secretary of State’s husband.”

» Pigford v. Glickman: 86,000 claims from 39,697 total farmers?
I’m confused.
If there are only 39,697 African-American farmers grand total in the entire country, then how can over 86,000 of them claim discrimination at the hands of the USDA? Where did the other 46,303 come from?
...
Even if there was a 100% turnover, and every single farmer went out of business every five years and was replaced by a new farmer (extremely unlikely), there still wouldn’t be enough black farmers throughout the entire period combined to account for the number of claimants.
It seems, no matter how you look at it, that a substantial number of the 86,000 claims must necessarily be fraudulent.

When Californians turn against unions, the writing is on the wall.
» The Beholden State
More and more California taxpayers are realizing how stacked the system is against them, and the first stirrings of revolt are breaking out. Voters defeated a series of ballot initiatives last May that would have allowed politicians to solve the state budget crisis temporarily through a series of questionable gimmicks, including one to let the state borrow against future lottery receipts and another to let it plug budget holes with money diverted from a mental-health services fund. In a clear message from voters, the only proposition to gain approval last May banned pay raises for legislators during periods of budget deficit.
With anger rising, taxpayer advocates now plan to revive older initiatives to cut the power of public-sector unions.
I’ll bet you haven’t seen very much news about Iran during the past week or 10 days, have you? And yet there’s lots of news
Rulers of the Islamic Republic are looking more and more like the gang that couldn’t shoot straight, and Banafsheh uncovered a document that should cause them considerable embarrassment. It’s a flyer, recruiting virgin women for prostitution in a brothel located in the holiest site of one of the two holiest cities in Iran: the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashad. You might wish to read the whole thing—it includes going rates—but here’s the essence of it:
In order to elevate the spiritual atmosphere, create proper psychological conditions and tranquility of mind, the Province of the Quds’eh-Razavi of Khorassan has created centers for temporary marriage (just next door to the shrine) for those brothers who are on pilgrimage to the shrine of our eighth Imam, Imam Reza, and who are far away from their spouses.
To that end, we call on all our sisters who are virgins, who are between the ages of 12 and 35 to cooperate with us.
It’s a religious thing, you see.

» Confirmed: Bailout Loot Went Overseas
Friday night is always the time for information embarrassing to our rulers to be dumped down a media black hole. It was only released at all under threat of subpoena from Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
The initial $85 billion to bail out AIG was supplemented by an additional $49.1 billion from the Troubled Asset Relief Program, known as TARP, as well as additional funds from the Federal Reserve. AIG's debt to U.S. taxpayers totals $133.3 billion outstanding. …
AIG received the bailout of $85 billion at the discretion of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, which was led at the time by Timothy Geithner. He now is U.S. treasury secretary.
At his "discretion," this tax cheat stole $85 billion of our money and passed it out among his friends both here and abroad. Our country is ruled by criminals who are systematically looting it into bankruptcy. When the economy inevitably collapses, their cronies in the media will blame it all on the capitalist system that made America rich, but that progressives have corrupted beyond recognition.
» Is Fighting for Smaller Government Racist?
When the NAACP allowed itself to be used by the Democratic party to try and smear a grass roots movement for smaller government as racist, the resulting controversy shone a light on more than just racism by individuals associated with the NAACP, but with the organization's inability to delink class warfare from racism. If there is one thing that both the white media elites at Jornolist and the NAACP leadership agreed on, it's that fighting for smaller government is racist.
Don't you just love the fact that these Democrat control-freaks never -- never -- voluntarily pay the higher rates they want you to pay? That's because they're hypocritical Statists who hate America -- and I hear that's the phrase they prefer.
the federal government is broke. Democrats stole all of the money and then some. We're letting our kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enter the world decades from now owing the principal and interest on Joe Schmoe's 99-week unemployment extensions.
99-weeks of unemployment isn't a safety net. It's welfare.
Everything you needed to know about Obama could have been learned from his campaign.
‘I think when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody.’
‘For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country.’
‘It’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.’
Doubtless many factors have contributed to shaping the Obama outlook. But if there is one thing above any others that explains it, it is that he is a product of the academy—in his case Columbia University, Harvard Law School, and the University of Chicago.

Separatist Black-Marxist Liberation Politics
The Sherrod saga just gets more interesting by the day.
» Sherrod: "We Must Stop The White Man And His Uncle Toms ..."
... can you tell me what's so heroic about telling a room full of young black minds not even out in the world, yet - that if they ever embrace political, or socio-economic ideas that don't jibe with your hero's, the one elevated in a room before them, that they will be denounced as race-traitors? That is what Uncle Tom means, after all. What REALLY is heroic in that? It looks to me like what your hero does is build up their black identity to an extreme, then sends them a message that, if they don't vote, or act the way he wants them to, he and his community make them outcasts, stripping that very identity from them as traitors to their race. Is that the message heroic Civil Rights leaders are passing on to young blacks today? It sounds like it to me ...

» Obama Sues Arizona, Gives Sanctuary to Lawbreakers
The Obama Administration is suing Arizona for wanting to enforce our nation’s immigration laws, but they won’t sue cities that violate our immigration laws by enacting sanctuary policies.

» Socialist “JournoListas”
The now closed down JournoList, has caused considerable controversy in recent weeks. According to its opponents, JournoList teamed up some 400 prominent “progressive” journalists in an effort to smooth Barack Obama’s path to the White House.
There have been accusations that “Journolitstas,” deliberately sought to downplay Obama’s association with the Marxist Rev. Jeremiah Wright and tried to smear conservatives or opposing journalists as “racists.”
This post looks at 106 reported “Journolistas” to look for connections or common threads.
Of the known “Journolistas” and organizations listed below, many can be linked back to two interrelated groups Democratic Socialists of America, the U.S.’s largest Marxist-based organization and the D.S.A.’s “brain,” the Washington DC-based, far left “think tank,” the Institute for Policy Studies.
Take a few minutes to read the entire article. Count how many times the words Communist and Socialist appear.
JournoGate: For those who think the growing JournoList scandal is much ado about nothing, think again. It's about secrecy and power among the left-wing media — and leads all the way into the White House.
One of the defenses put forward by those taking part in the JournoList — the secretive online discussion forum for liberal journalists and "experts" — is that it was really just a place to talk and discuss things without a lot of argument from those who don't share their left-leaning views.
But JournoList, formerly run by Washington Post journalist Ezra Klein, was much more than that. It was an attempt to secretly influence public debate in one partisan direction — toward the Democrats — and to bias the news toward both the liberal political agenda and the election of Barack Obama.

» What the Left Really Thinks of Hitler
One of the left's dirty secrets is that the Soviet Union was the preeminent country engaged in Holocaust denial. At a time when Germany had outlawed Holocaust denial, the Soviet Union mostly suppressed any mention of the Holocaust, focusing only on Russian casualties as a whole. Unsurprisingly that is exactly the line that Oliver Stone takes, when he emphasizes that; "Hitler did far more damage to the Russians than the Jewish people, 25 or 30 million killed". In 1982, Mahmoud Abbas of the PLO, and current leader of the Palestinian Authority, included Holocaust denial material in his doctoral thesis at a Moscow University. Unsurprisingly his doctoral thesis reads a lot like Stone's comments. That is because both are grounded in the Soviet Communist view of history.

Barack Obama has portrayed Tea Party Patriots as a gang of malcontents "waving their little teabags." Such undignified characterizations notwithstanding, Obama and his Leftist cadres are clearly concerned that an enlightened grassroots movement to restore Rule of Law will undermine their Socialist agenda.
Earlier this month , Obama surrogates at the National Association to Agitate Colored People (NAACP) took over the effort to stir that pot. You get a lot more "business" -- but it doesn't put a single cent in your pocket. As a matter of fact, it substantially ups your cost of doing business because of the increased use of utilities, materials, wear and tear on your facilities, and increased payroll because your employees have to work longer and harder to satisfy the new demand. Some of them actually quit because of the increased workload and stress and just do something else.
This increased "business" will also undoubtedly affect your quality, as you must constantly look for ways to buy cheaper materials and hire cheaper labor to try and survive and offset what it's costing you to stay in business.
Even worse, your real customers, the people who used to like to come to your stand because you provided quality hot dogs at a very reasonable price with good, friendly service, start avoiding your business like the plague. Because it now takes literally hours to get a hot dog from a rude and harassed staff, parking is a nightmare because of the crowds, and the hot dogs themselves now smell and taste like cheap, canned cat food.
Substitute your local HMO, Medical Insurance plan, or health care provider for the hot dog stand, and health care for the hot dogs, and you've just gotten a preview of what's going to happen to your health care...
» Obamacare Makes Life Much Easier For Michelle Obama!
“For moms like me, it makes our lives easier,”
Michelle Obama had led the typical Mom life. She was given a job at a law firm following graduation, she married Barack Obama and almost immediately gave up her license to practice law. She then went to work for Public Allies, where she was founding Executive Director ...
Her salary history remains murky until Barack Obama was elected to the Senate. Then her salary tripled to $316,000 per year. Her job apparently was to divert indigent patients away from the profitable University of Chicago. Michelle Obama’s total income for 2007 was nearly $500,000.
Once Barack Obama was elected to the Presidency, Michelle resigned from her job. There is some question as to the importance of her job, since one she resigned her position was eliminated.
Just like my Mom.
“Moms like me.”
Earth to Michelle: There are no Moms like you.
God I wish my Mom had been wealthy enough to be a liberal.

A brief and late Sunday morning post -
I'm down to one arm today (maybe four weeks) and this one-handed computering is slow and tedious.
Some of the most common operations — including hip replacements and cataract surgery — will be rationed as part of attempts to save billions of pounds, despite government promises that front-line services would be protected.
Don't forget the British NHS is the model used by our illustrious dhimmicrat congress in their justification lies to socialize the American healthcare industry.
Say, wasn't it just last week that Obama's new healthcare czar congratulated the Brits for having "chosen wisely"?
On Thursday, the board of Sutton and Merton primary care trust (PCT) in London agreed more than £50 million of savings in two years. The plan included more than £400,000 to be saved by “reducing length of stay” in hospital for the terminally ill.
As well as sending more patients home to die, the paper said the savings would be made by admitting fewer terminally ill cancer patients to hospital because they were struggling to cope with symptoms such as pain. Instead, more patients would be given advice on “self management” of their condition.
Did he say “reducing length of stay” in hospital for the terminally ill ?
Oh, lemme summit furya,
Either send em home to die in pain or just go ahead and kill em

» Economic Meltdown: The Final Phase
Most Americans alive today have never suffered through an extended depression and few if any have ever witnessed a full fledged meltdown of a country’s finance and infrastructure. Therefore, many people in this country have no point of reference with which to compare and contrast the events of the new millennium. The unfortunate reality is, when a society enjoys an extended period of affluence, they often become conditioned to take prosperity for granted. They become unable or unwilling to interpret warning signs of a collapse until the event is already near its end, and they have lost everything.
...
The recession / depression that we face today should have transpired sometime in the early 1990’s, but the engineered low interest rates supplied by the private Federal Reserve during that decade created the property value boom. Any American could buy a home regardless of whether or not they could actually afford it, and anyone with a home could then use it as collateral for enormous credit lines. This new artificial debt bubble prolonged the collapse for around fifteen years. As of the second quarter of 2010, though, this credit source has been exhausted completely. There is officially nothing left to support the general economy (except, of course, fiat inflation). The effects of this lack of national capital should become very visible by the end of this year.
...
Unemployment benefits hide the visible scars of national job loss. Now that millions of Americans have run out, expect to see those scars in all their terrible glory. Expect homeless numbers to skyrocket. Expect crime to skyrocket. Expect suicides to skyrocket. Expect all the problems that were once muted and hidden to now parade across the street where you live. Expect things to deteriorate from the comparably nice, polite, and civil situation we have currently. Expect things to get ugly.
...
... we may not be able to stop these events from unfolding, but we can determine their final outcome. Prepare for the worst, because I have no doubt you are liable to see it before the next few years are done. Stand by your principles. Never compromise your conscience. And above all else, survive. No ending culminates without the graces of a new life, one full of possibility. It is up to you, the staunch and independent American individual, to see that that possibility is realized regardless of any obstacle or enemy. A fiscal catastrophe will not stop us, it will not break our spirits, it will not enslave us. It will only strengthen our resolve to remain forever defiant, and forever free.
» U.S. Social Security Will Go Bankrupt in 2010
Unless there is another Social Security tax increase in 2010, the system will go into red ink mode and stay there.
The public has not been informed of this, which comes as no surprise. There have been a few scattered stories on the Web, but nothing sustained. The media do not want to admit that the jointly operated Social Security program and Medicare program are going to bankrupt the Federal government if they are not cut back drastically.
They are never cut back. They always expand.

» Revealed: The Obama Donor List
In 2008 the liberal media provided the cover needed for Obama to get elected, but two years later, questions remain about his relationship with ACORN and it has been clear that Obama has lied repeatedly to the American people. Its time to get Obama and ACORN on the record about what really happened with the donor lists in 2007 and 2008.
The release of the Obama donor list to the public will be followed by a formal complaint to the FEC, which both Obama and ACORN will have to respond to – on-the-record.
~~ via GatewayPundit
ACORN whistle-blower Anita Moncrief held a press conference today at the Right Online Convention in Las Vegas. She announced today that she will press FEC charges against the Obama Administration for the campaign’s illegal coordination with ACORN during the 2008 election.
Anita also rolled out her new website Emerging Corruption. The website will focus on fraud and corruption in ACORN and affiliated groups. Anita already posted the Obama Donor List on the website as promised.

Now, like then, most of the media declined to mention the religious or ethnic background of the rioters, instead painting them as unruly youngsters and covering the eyes of the public to the slow dissolution of France as we know it.

» Vindicated for Removing Saddam
President Bush’s top political advisor, Karl Rove, said on July 15 that his biggest mistake was not fighting back against Democrats trying to score cheap political points by accusing the President of lying to get the country to support an invasion of Iraq. Rove is right, but another mistake was made: not trying to vindicate the removal of Saddam Hussein using evidence, including Iraqi government documents, that was obtained after the regime’s overthrow. Compelling evidence exists to show that Saddam’s regime was sponsoring terrorists (e.g., Al-Qaeda), had the ability to quickly produce weapons of mass destruction, and the will to use both against its enemies.
The Iraq Survey Group, the task force put together to find out what happened to Iraq’s WMD stockpiles, is often seen as the group that debunked the Bush Administration’s case for war. In reality, its conclusions did not significantly contradict the nature of the threat described by both President Bush and President Clinton. In fact, it demonstrated that the feared nexus between terrorists and those involved in WMD was coming together.
» Democratic Senators Call for Bush Tax Cuts Renewal
Two more Senate Democrats have called for extending tax cuts for all earners, including those with the highest incomes, in what appears to be a breakdown of the party's consensus on the how to handle the expiration of Bush-era tax cuts.
Sen. Kent Conrad, D., N.D., said that Congress shouldn't allow taxes on the wealthy to rise until the economy is on a sounder footing.
Sen. Ben Nelson, D., Neb., told The Wall Street Journal through a spokesman that he also supported extending all the expiring tax cuts for now, adding that he wanted to offset the impact on federal deficits as much as possible.
Here's what I take away from that little tidbit; dhimmicrats are aware that over-taxing hurts the economy as well as federal deficits. Yet they continue to pile up more and more taxes with any available opportunity.
If they know that high-taxes, especially on the wealthy, actually reduce federal tax revenue in the long run, then why? Why keep doing it?
Where's the logic?
Or did I read it wrong?

...
The Ku Klux Klan was established by the Democrat Party.

In the fifties and sixties, members of the KKK who fought the civil rights movement were uniformly Democrats. Infamous police commissioner Bull Connor not only attacked protesters with fire hoses, dogs and clubs, but served as both a KKK member and a committeeman for the Democrat Party.

Martin Luther King wouldn't even recognize today's NAACP, which is eerily similar to the Klan of old. It appears to embrace hatred based solely upon race, an ideology that is closer to Germany of the thirties than King's America.
» What the NAACP/Tea Party Battle Is Really About
The NAACP and its numerous allies have for decades led the charge to expand government power, including intruding into areas once considered absolutely off-limits to local government, let alone Washington. Tea Partiers are not libertarians, but they've had enough with government power run amok. This disagreement is, to use Thomas Sowell's words, an unbridgeable conflict of visions: the Tea Party's agenda, even stripped of any racial component, contravenes the NAACP's raison d'être, so when the NAACP complains about insensitivities, it is just saying, "You intend to destroy us."
Playing the race card takes many forms. Judge Charles Pickering, a federal judge in Mississippi who defended the civil rights of blacks for years and defied the Ku Klux Klan back when that was dangerous, was depicted as a racist when he was nominated for a federal appellate judgeship.
No one even mistakenly thought he was a racist. The point was simply to discredit him for political reasons-- and it worked.
This year's target is the Tea Party.
» US financial system support up $700 bln in past year-watchdog
Increased housing commitments swelled U.S. taxpayers' total support for the financial system by $700 billion in the past year to around $3.7 trillion ... the increase was due largely to the government's pledges to supply capital to Fannie Mae (FNMA.OB) and Freddie Mac (FMCC.OB) and to guarantee more mortgages
From the comments:
Didn’t President Bush make an attempt to investigate and overhaul Fannie and Freddie during his administration? Didn’t Congress deny that attempt with Chris Dodd and Barney Frank being the two opposition leaders? You remember Chris Dodd and Barney Frank don’t you? Dodd was taking special deals from mortgage lenders and Frank having a boyfriend working for one of those two organizations. This makes one wonder what Congress and the administration happens to be doing with their financial regulations. At least they all have the same clarion call: Blame it on Bush! That is getting old about now. Some time in the not too distant future Barry Barack Hussein Obama is going to have to take credit for his own work.

Most folks are not aware of the huge tax burdens that will hit on January 1.
But they will be.
Republicans could produce a conservative revolution which achieves, in two short years, everything we have been seeking for the last fifty years. All this would require great boldness and vision. But our nation needs just such a revolution. Half-measures and compromises simply prolong our slow death. We need a revolution. We have the means to that revolution within our grasp soon.
If America is to survive as the land of the free, it is imperative that the current leadership in Washington be removed and replaced with people who believe in the principles of limited government, free markets, private property, and individual freedom. Two years of leadership by the Obama-Reid-Pelosi trinity demonstrates contempt for these principles. The only reward worthy of their service is early and absolute retirement.
» Last Chance for the Republicans to Treat the Democratic Party for What It Is… the Enemy
It is time to take the new Democratic rhetoric head on. The problem with the GOP is simply that they are without wit, intestinal fortitude, and worst of all, unity. If they love this nation it is time for them to show it
For the past year, the Left has wanted to portray the Tea Party variously as a tool of the GOP, an offshoot of some DC “astroturf” organization, or associated with some major personality like Sarah Palin. There is a method to their madness: If they can associate one face to the whole movement, when that face fails, the movement can be brought down with it. Remember Alinsky?
...
The Tea Party movement is bigger and more than one man, even one good man (or woman).Once the Tea Party gets co-opted by an individual or group, it will be that much easier to destroy it. Watch the Left. Watch the media. Watch Congress. There’s a method to their madness.
Keep the Tea Party of, by and for the people. Keep personality and power out of it.
» A Dying Media Writes its Own Obituary
The difference between a reporter and an advocate, is that the former reports on events, while the latter uses events as props in his message. Where a reporter tries to learn what happened, the advocate tries to understand how he can use that event in his narrative. The advocate has less in common with the reporter, than he does with an ad executive. Like the ad executive looking at a box of chocolate, the advocate looks at an event and decides how he can use it to sell his message.
It took me years to understand that there was a much bigger cover-up here, that had nothing to do with a decadent president and a star-struck intern, and everything to do with a man who was given a free pass for criminal and immoral acts, simply because he towed the right party line. I was so invested in my ideology that, sad to say, “I couldn’t handle the truth.” But at least I wasn’t deliberately lying — which these “journolists” have now admitted they did.
The popular meme amongst the unholy cabal that is Islam and the Left is that Israel is a murderous genocidal regime that is currently using the blockade to impose unimaginable suffering on the Gazans. Fortunately, modern communications allow us to see the full extent of that “suffering”
» Obama's Poll Numbers Down, Imaginary Racism Up
This is what "racism" has come to in America. Democrats are in trouble, so they say "let's call conservatives racists." We always knew it, but the Journolist postings gave us the smoking gun.
This explains why we've heard so much about Tea Partiers being "racists" lately.
Wotchu mean by 'lately'? The Tea Partiers have been called racists from day-frikkin-one.
Democrats did their best to provoke an ugly confrontation by marching a (shockingly undiverse) group of black Democrats right through the middle of the anti-ObamaCare protest. But they didn't get one, so the media just lied and asserted Lewis was called the N-word. (If they wanted to hear the N-word so badly, they should have sent the congressional delegation to a Jay-Z concert.)
Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one's opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.

» How Dare You, James Clyburn!
The basic point made by congressman Clyburn was that those people in America who are against the liberal interpretation of immigration reform, fancy term for amnesty, are an affront to those non-US citizens members of the Military who are serving overseas and have died in the service of the Nation.
...
After hearing Clyburn using the non-US citizens in the Armed Forces with such blatant misconstruction, my mind went to Alexandre “Sasha” Aleexev.
In 2007, the Patriot Guard Riders escorted Sasha, as he was known to his family and friends, to his last resting place after being killed in Iraq by an IED.
Sasha’s family had come to America from Russia when Sasha was a little kid following the disintegration of the Soviet Union. Sasha and his family were legal immigrants into the United States and Sasha loved America so much that he had decided to serve his new country in the Military. His hope was also that his service would possibly accelerate his citizenship paperwork, as being a US Citizen was one of the goals he wanted to achieve the most.
Spc. Alexandre “Sasha” Alexeev, 23 years old, paid the ultimate price for the defense of the country he loved so much. And at the cemetery, immediately following the Military Honors, a State Department official granted full United States Citizenship to this legal immigrant from Russia.
Sasha was buried as a United States citizen.
So, for Representative Clyburn to place on the same level someone like Sasha and those who enter our sovereign soil illegally is just enough for me to discount this man as an American.
» A Fourth Approach to the Muslim World
We've seen the three basic approaches, that of the Stabilizers, the Radicals and the Neo-Conservatives-- and all are fundamentally flawed. The Stabilizers support tyrants who covertly make war on the United States. The Radicals support terrorists who openly make war on the United States. What is even more absurd is that there is really not that much distance between the tyrants and the terrorists, since the tyrants fund the terrorists to increase their own power and popularity, and the terrorists aspire to become tyrants in the name of Islam. And both sides are laughing at the Stabilizers and the Radicals for selling out their country.
...
The Fourth Way is Accountability and it is simple enough. Stop arguing over who will rule in which Muslim country. That is a decision that only the inhabitants of that country can make. And they won't make it through elections, so much as through dealmaking among their oligarchy, tribal leaders and occasional outbursts of armed force. It would take a massive project of decades to have any hope of changing that. But we don't need to. What we need to do is make very clear the consequences of attacking us to whoever is in charge.
The greatest threats to the world's species are misguided environmental and anti-technology policies.
It is bad enough that "biodiversity stabilization" is a reprise of past government-environmentalist eco-scares. Like its predecessors, the new program offers horrifying predictions of a dying planet – backed by little more than dubious theories, assumptions, assertions and statistics, fed into fancy computer models that generate ominous scenarios and graphics. It also proposes the same tired "solutions" – more taxes, regulations, and government control over lives, energy development and economic growth.
The far greater problem is that the UN, EPA, "mainstream media" and political establishment are ignoring the real threats to habitats, species and biodiversity: the anti-energy, anti-technology, anti-people agenda of radical green ideology.

"Black Jack" Pershing and thousands more soldiers into Mexico after Villa and his bandits. Once Pershing's force clashed with the Mexican army, Wilson ordered another 75,000 National Guardsmen to the border region. Supported by an enraged American citizenry, Wilson reacted swiftly and with substantial force to secure our southern border and drive out what was, in effect, a marauding army of Mexican invaders.
» The (un)wisdom of the Obama/DOJ suit against Arizona
The federal government usually has standing to stop encroachment on what it considers to be its own regulatory authority.
...
The federal government has drug laws, and states have drug laws. This is an "overlapping area of enforcement," but that's not usually a problem. Conflicts are avoided because both the feds and the state agree that policing drug activity is a good thing.By filing this suit, the federal government certainly appears to be sending the message that they do NOT think that policing immigration violations is a good thing. They didn't have to file this suit. They chose to.
... here is what the country is hearing:
"The federal government has pre-eminent authority to regulate immigration matters. Of course, we have no intention of actually doing anything about illegal immigration, and if anyone else tries to, we'll sue you."

» Franken’s Felony Vote News Blackout
Maybe I’m deaf and blind, but two weeks after a voting records examination report showed Minnesota Senator Al Franken was probably elected by felons who were illegally voting in that state’s 2008 general election, I’ve yet to come across even one mention of that story in the agenda-setting media.
Subject: BUILDING PERMIT
I applied for a building permit for a new house.
It was going to be 100 ft tall and 400 ft wide with 9 turrets at
various heights and windows all over the place and a loud outside
entertainment sound system. It would have parking for 200 cars and I was going to paint it pale
green with white and black trim. The City Council told me no.
So I sent in the application again, but this time I called it a mosque.
.........Work starts on Monday...

» When is a burqa not a burqa? When it’s a weapon.
... arguments, whether about burqas or buildings, might be good arguments if they were about the buildings or clothing of any other religion but Islam. Islam as a religion, however, is sui generis. Unlike all other religions, which are focused in one way or another on bringing individuals closer to God (or Gods), Islam’s predicate is Jihad or, in plain English, conquest.
...
Islam, as a religion, is entirely comfortable with and, indeed, encourages, both forced conversions and the death penalty for apostates. Faith as we understand it — meaning a belief in and commitment to a God — is irrelevant. Instead, submission is everything. It’s fine if you submit at the point of the sword and, if you refuse to submit, it’s fine if that same sword summarily executes you. While Islam may be dressed up in the trappings of monotheism, and while I don’t doubt that there are millions of genuinely spiritual Muslims around the world, the religion’s primary — and explicit — goal is conquest of both geographical territory and human bodies.
...
Only by recognizing that Islam uses as weapons symbols that we, children of the Enlightenment, view as freely expressed signs of a personal faith, can we preserve our liberties and lay claim to true religious freedom. Switzerland and France have taken this step towards understanding why the Islamic religion is different from all other religions. It’s time that the rest of us do so too.

» Obama Administration Now Defends Insurance Mandate as a Tax
When Congress required most Americans to obtain health insurance or pay a penalty, Democrats denied that they were creating a new tax. But in court, the Obama administration and its allies now defend the requirement as an exercise of the government’s “power to lay and collect taxes.”
...
Congress anticipated a constitutional challenge to the individual mandate. Accordingly, the law includes 10 detailed findings meant to show that the mandate regulates commercial activity important to the nation’s economy. Nowhere does Congress cite its taxing power as a source of authority.

» Federal Reserve's Economic Reassessment Sends Dollar Tumbling
Usually the dollar serves as a safe haven whenever the world takes fright, and there was plenty of sobering news from China and other quarters on Thursday. Not this time. The US itself has become the problem.
...
. "The Europeans have aired their dirty debt in public and taken some measures to address it, whilst the US has not,"
...
The signs of a deep and sudden slowdown in the US are becoming ever clearer as the "sugar rush" from the Obama fiscal stimulus wears off and the inventory boost fades...This points to a sharp slowdown or recession within three months.
» GOP senators float amendment to stop Arizona lawsuit
“States like Arizona shouldn’t be prosecuted for protecting their citizens when the federal government fails to do so,” said DeMint said in a statement. “The federal government is rewarding illegal behavior and encouraging many more to enter our nation illegally when they refuse to enforce our laws.”
Whatever "green jobs" are, it's very clear America doesn't want them. President Obama has been pushing a proposal that would spend more than $1 million for each permanent green job created in a solar-power boondoggle. Billions were placed at the disposal of avowed communist Van Jones to create these sparkling emeralds of environmentally sensitive employment even though no one in the administration can explain what they are.
...
Many on the left, including the president, have openly stated their desire to push gas prices higher so Americans will behave according to the designs of the environmentalist movement.
...
The animating principle of radical environmentalism is that freedom is dangerous and cannot be allowed because the survival of the planet is at stake. This is what makes it such a perfect fit as the state religion of a socialist elite. Its sacrament is antimatter to libertarian capitalism: righteous tyranny.
» Radical Civil Rights Attorney Who Helped Terrorist Gets 10 Years in Prison
Progressive radical civil rights attorney Lynne Stewart, after saying she could do her initial 2-year and four-month sentence for aiding a convicted terrorist, sobbed as a US District Court Judge resentenced her to 10 years in prison after concluding she lied to a jury and lacked remorse.
It's hard to comprehend that intelligent people believe Obama speaks the truth. A simple question: If an individual encourages coldly tossing a barely breathing infant into a laundry room to die and uses the upholding of the original intent to kill the baby as an excuse, is it logical to assume such a person has a high regard for truth?
Barack Obama supports killing the unborn and if by chance the infant should happen to "burden the original decision of the woman and the physician to induce labor and perform an abortion" by refusing to die, Barry disagrees with providing a helpless being medical care. Plain and simple, Obama is cold and heartless.
If lying were an art, Barack would be its master.

» Conceived Overpopulation one reason DDT Perished
Humans killing humans. It’s happened in the past, and will likely happen in the future. One of the most prolific baby-killing machines has been the banning of the man-made chemical [dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane]. Billions know it by its acronym - “DDT”
Why would so many feel justified with the deaths of 50-80 million mostly children (2-3 million per year), and mostly in Africa from malaria? ... This genocide is painfully described by Steve Jalsavec in how National Geographic acknowledges huge loss of life to malaria and ...the need for DDT.

» Marxist Democratic Socialists of America, Helped Obama Win in 2008
President Barack Obama has a long history with the U.S.'s largest marxist based organization, Democratic Socialists of America (D.S.A.).
Here is hard evidence that D.S.A. threw its entire weight behind their long time ally Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential elections.
The problem is an ancient one. How to remove from office a king or, in a republic, an elected leader who has broken the law and/or is perceived to be a threat to both the present and future of the nation? In earlier eras, the solution was usually bloody.
» How the Media, the UN and the Diplomats Saved Hamas 18 Years Ago
Rabbi Shmuel Biran was a schoolteacher in Kfar Darom, an Israeli village in Gaza. He was murdered by Hamas terrorists while crossing a two lane highway. The UN did not condemn the murder of Rabbi Biran. Newsweek did not write any piteous pieces about how much his widow missed him. Instead they called Kfar Darom a settlement, even though it was part of a history going back over 2000 years, and the land it was on had been bought and paid for, fair and square. But the same diplomats and reporters who wailed for the lonely Hamas terrorists in Lebanon, pitied not the family of Rabbi Biran. Instead they demanded his family and all the Jews of Kfar Darom be expelled from their homes.
Kfar Darom being burned by its new occupants
Eventually they got their wish. The families of Kfar Darom were dragged out of their homes. Today Kfar Darom is used by Hamas terrorists to launch rockets deeper into Israel, at other towns and villages. And the murderers have inherited the land of their victims. And yet there is no peace. Never any peace.
